If you’re a heavy Surface Pen user at some point you’ll have to replace the tip(s) that come with your Surface Pro Pen.
Replacement tips are available in a kit, where you get four different tips for about $19.99, depending on where you shop.
The four replacement tips are compatible with the Surface Pro Pen V2 for use with the Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3, and Surface 3.
The tips in the kit come in the following grading scales with various thicknesses: 2H, H, HB and B.
My favorite is the B. It offers the stickiness that I like when drawing on a glass screen. The harder tips are fine for quick crosshatching, but they skate too much for my liking.
Overall, I rate these as a buy.
